Our Operations

The ambulance service is broadening its operations by taking over assignments for lying patient transport between healthcare facilities. This service will be performed every day of the week, both day and evening.

Lying Patient Transport is a new part of the ambulance service, and you who are applying will be employed under the ambulance service with great opportunities for personal development if desired and deemed appropriate.

The placement of the units for Lying Patient Transport is Uppsala ambulance station and Enköping ambulance station.

Our Employment Requirements

We require medical knowledge, physical endurance, and the ability to work independently and solve problems. Our employment requirements are set both to ensure the ability to perform the work itself and to prevent work-related injuries. The employment requirements for Lying Patient Transport are also in line with the other requirements of the ambulance service.

Your Qualifications

Certified nursing assistant with at least three years of experience in emergency care. Additional training in ambulance care is advantageous. You must have C1/C license or alternatively a B driver's license issued before July 1, 1996. We place great emphasis on having good driving experience.

As an applicant, you should have good physical condition and work capacity. You must also submit a certificate that you can swim (200 m). The selection consists of a suitability test in the form of a fitness test, driving test, interview, and a medical knowledge test in the form of a written exam. Dates for test days will be announced later.

For this role, it is required that you remain calm and controlled under stress or in pressured situations and focus on the right things. You work well with others, are attentive, and resolve conflicts constructively.

We Offer

Employment starting spring 2026. An introductory course will be conducted before clinical work. Upon successful completion, you will be offered employment as agreed. Before hiring, extracts from the police's suspicion and criminal records as well as the driver's license register will be taken.

Recurring training days at the ambulance station as well as external concept training. A potential career path for those interested in stepping into the ambulance and the profession of ambulance caregiver or for those who have worked in an ambulance but want to work in a more planned manner and with a lower expected pace.
